What will students learn | Students increase their knowledge and understanding of the development of Church, State and Society in Medieval Britain 1066-1509. The students will study key features of society, including economy, women and religion in Medieval Britain. Students will study a range of monarchs and consider the change in their power and authority during the Middle Ages. | ||
Key Knowledge that students should know at the end of 'Topic' | This is the knowledge that students will meet for the first time in this topic | Students will learn the key features of life in Medieval England, including towns and villages. Students will learn about the social structure and position of women. Students will learn about the importance of the Church. Students will explore the concepts of health and hygiene during the Black Death. Students will consider the changes in power through medieval case studies; Beckett, the Magna Carta and the Peasants Revolt. | |
This is knowledge that students may have met before but will need to deepen their understanding | Students will be recalling the features of the Feudal System and a basic knowledge of society in the medieval era | ||
