What will students learn | Students will develop their knowledge and understanding of some of the seminal mythology that has impacted our society and culture. Students will learn about a selection of myths from Greek mythology. Students will also learn how to write a simple expository essay as well as developing their skills in writing narrative essays. | ||
Key Knowledge that students should know at the end of 'Topic' | This is the knowledge that students will meet for the first time in this topic | History of Greek mythology; the twelve Olympians as the major Greek deities; purpose, vocabulary choice, and characters in the following myths:- The Three Sisters of Fate, Pandora’s Box, Perseus and the Gorgon Medusa; a selection of other Greek myths to be chosen by the teacher; key aspects of society that have been influenced by Greek mythology | |
