Students will deepen their knowledge of the Middle East, Russia and China. Students will explain the economic growth of the Middle East (focus on Dubai) due to oil/tourism. Students will understand the term transcontinental countries with a focus on Russia now being a tourist destination. Students will consider Russia and China's rise to superpowers and the global impacts of this. |

Key Knowledge that students should know at the end of 'Topic' | This is the knowledge that students will meet for the first time in this topic | Consider the division through culture and religion and investigate the making of country borders (political and physical). Have knowledge of the physical features of the Middle East/Russia. Understand the economic growth in the Middle East (focus on Dubai) due to the availability of oil as a resource. Recognise transnational countries. Investigate Russia in terms of population, distribution and tourism. Compare Russia and China as superpowers | |
