Curriculum Intent Statement

At SJT Community College our mathematics curriculum is grounded in the Mathematics Mastery approach which aims to ensure every pupil develops deep conceptual understanding, fluency and the confidence to reason and solve problems with independence. We are committed to providing a coherent, well-sequenced mastery curriculum that reflects our community values of aspiration, resilience and inclusion, enabling all learners, including those who are disadvantaged or who begin with lower prior attainment, to make strong and sustained progress. Supported by high-quality resources, expert professional development and integrated assessment, our intent is to secure consistently excellent teaching so that every pupil at SJT Community College gains the mathematical knowledge, skills and self-belief needed to succeed in further study, employment and life beyond school.
