School Uniform
Uniform will be worn by all students in school. We wear uniforms for many reasons.
These include: • Looking smart • Having school identity • To foster equality
We all dress in accordance with our values of ambition, respect and belonging.
Items that require the school logo can be bought from the uniform suppliers in the area.
If you are unsure on the suitability of any aspect of the school uniform, please feel free to contact your child’s Head of Year Team prior to purchasing.

School Uniform
School uniform should consist of the following:- Black tailored trousers (not sports trousers) or skirt
- White shirt
- Black Blazer with SJT logo
- Black Jumper with SJT logo (optional)
- Black socks
- School tie (each year will be distinguished by a colour)
Year 10 Students
If your child is entering Year 10 then they have the option of wearing a black jumper with the SJT logo instead of a blazer.
Year 11 Students
In Year 11 students will wear a purple jumper with the SJT logo. Year 11 Prefect students wear a silver tie which is provided by school.Headscarves
Headscarves should be a plain, dark colour and should allow for full visibility of your child's face and neatly tucked into the school shirt. Headscarves must be securely tucked away in all practical lessons (e.g. Science, DT and PE).Jewellery, Hair & Make Up
One pair of stud earrings is permitted. Other styles of earrings, nose studs/rings or other facial piercings are not allowed. If your child already has these areas pierced, we ask that any item is removed before entering the building.
Hair should be of a natural colour and without patterns cut into it. Long hair must be tied back for health and safety reasons in practical lessons.
Make up, including nail varnish and acrylic nails are not permitted in school.
Footwear
Trainers are permitted to be worn as long as they are entirely black in colour, this includes any branding, laces or outer soles. Below are some examples of permissible footwear as well as some that will not be acceptable from September 2026.Acceptable footwear must be all black, made of leather and have a matching black sole. There are some examples below.
Shoes that have a contrasting sole, different coloured branding or have non leather sections are not allowed. There are some examples below.

Coats
Students are welcome to bring a warm, waterproof jacket to school, this should be a dark colour. Coats are not allowed inside the building. The only exception is Scarlett's.
PE Kit
On days that your child has PE, they should attend school in their PE kit. PE kit must only be worn on days that your child has PE.
The PE Kits consist of:
- Black shorts or tracksuit bottoms with the SJT logo
- Plain black joggers without the SJT logo are permissible but they must be plain black and without branding or cargo style pockets
- White PE top with the SJT logo
- Black socks
- Trainers with non-marking soles
- Artificial ground (AG) football boots or Astro turf (TF) trainers
- Plain black sports leggings
Trainers used on the Astro CANNOT be used as school shoes - footwear must be changed on/off Astro turf due to black bead surface.
Whilst in school, we expect students to uphold our high expectations regarding uniform and ensure that it is worn correctly, with shirt tucked in and top button done up at all times. If students repeatedly fail to meet these expectations, then sanctions will be issued.

Large amounts of money must not be brought into school or taken on any school visits.
In order to make school a distraction free environment SJT is a Phone Free School. Mobile phones should be left at home wherever possible.
Parents who wish to allow their child to have a phone on the way to and from school must purchase a Yondr pouch through Scopay. This will allow the phone to be sealed away during the school day. The pouch can be opened when the child is out of the school at the end of the day.
If phones are seen in school, they will need to be handed in. Mobile phones that are handed in will be placed in a sealed envelope and placed in the school safe. Parents will be notified by Class Charts. Handed in phones will be returned to the student at the end of the week. Parents will be contacted if there are persistent issues.
The school cannot be held responsible for any damaged or stolen equipment and will confiscate any unauthorized equipment brought in to the premises. All uniform/equipment should be clearly marked with the student’s name.
NB The taking of unauthorised pictures / videos is strictly forbidden anywhere on the school site.
