What will students learn Students will learn how science and art are closely linked in terms of artists who combine the two and how human anatomy is natures own masterpiece. They will learn how to select resources to inspire their own artwork and how to combine media to create a contemporary piece of art inspired by science and anatomy. 
Key Knowledge that students should know at the end of 'Topic' This is the knowledge that students will meet for the first time in this topic  How artists use human anatomy as inspiration and how this is closely linked with science and medical illustration. How the human skull is a symbol that has been used within art and by several cultures throughout art history. 
This is knowledge that students may have met before but will need to deepen their understanding  The knowledge of how to successfully manipulate art materials to create a desired effect. 
Key Skills that students should be able to demonstrate at the end of 'Topic' This is the skills  that students will meet for the first time in this topic How to combine images and resources to inspire your own design. 
This is skills that students may have met before but will need to develop  Use of tone using pencil, pencil crayon and paint. Mixed media techniques of ink washes and combining different media, observational drawing techniques.
